How it works

Frequently asked questions
- Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
- No. The file is read into your browser's memory, the pages you kept are copied into a new PDF, and the download link points at a blob in that same tab. Nothing is transmitted — cut your Wi-Fi after the page loads and the tool still works.
- How do I type a page range?
- Commas and hyphens: 2, 5-7, 11 removes page 2, pages 5 through 7, and page 11. Open-ended forms work too — 10- means page 10 to the end, and -3 means everything up to page 3. The box and the page grid stay in sync, so clicking pages fills the box and typing in the box highlights pages.
- How do I delete all the blank backs of a duplex scan?
- Use the Even button (or Odd, depending on which side the scanner put first). A duplex feeder that scans both sides of single-sided originals leaves every second page blank, so removing all even pages usually clears the lot. Check the preview count before downloading.
- Can I delete every page?
- No, and the tool stops you rather than handing back a broken file. A PDF with zero pages isn't valid, and most viewers refuse to open one. At least one page has to stay — if you want nothing, you don't want a PDF.
- Does removing pages shrink the file?
- Usually, but not proportionally. Deleting 5 pages out of 50 rarely cuts the size by 10 percent, because embedded fonts and shared image resources are kept as long as any remaining page still references them. If you need a smaller file, run the result through the PDF compressor afterwards.
- Will the remaining pages lose quality?
- No. Each kept page's content stream is copied byte-for-byte with its original filters — no re-rendering, no re-encoding. A 300-DPI scan comes out exactly as sharp as it went in, and page rotation rides along.
- What about password-protected PDFs?
- Encrypted files are rejected with a clear message instead of being mangled. Open the PDF in a reader, save an unprotected copy, then delete pages from that one.
- Are bookmarks and form fields preserved?
- No. Both point at specific pages, and once some of those pages are gone the references can't be trusted, so the rebuilt document drops them. Page content, images, links drawn on the page, size, and rotation all survive.
